About Dr Nima Ahmadi

Dr Nima Ahmadi is a Specialist Colorectal and General Surgeon with a sub-speciality expertise in advanced peritoneal surface malignancy. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, having been awarded his fellowship in 2017. He then underwent further sub-speciality training in Colorectal Surgery through the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ). He has gained further specialist training in peritoneal surface oncology and Cytoreductive Surgery (Peritonectomy). He is committed to delivering personalised, evidence-based care with a focus on achieving the best possible outcomes for his patients.

Surgical Services

Endoscopy

Dr Ahmadi is accredited by the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) and provides advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. This includes the investigation and management of conditions such as reflux, gastrointestinal bleeding, iron deficiency anaemia, bloating, and abdominal pain, as well as routine colorectal cancer screening.

General Surgery

Dr Ahmadi provides comprehensive care for a variety of general surgical conditions, including hernias, pilonidal disease, appendicitis, and minor skin and soft tissue lesions such as lipomas.

Colorectal Surgery

Dr Ahmadi is a specialist colorectal surgeon accredited by the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ). He has expertise in the diagnosis and surgical management of conditions affecting the colon, rectum, and anus. This includes the treatment of bowel cancer, polyps, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, haemorrhoids, anal fissures, and fistulas. He offers both open and minimally invasive approaches, including Laparoscopic and Robotic surgery, tailored to each patient’s needs.

Cytoreductive Surgery (Peritonectomy)

Dr Ahmadi has specialised expertise in cytoreductive surgery for the treatment of peritoneal surface malignancies, including pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP), peritoneal metastases from appendiceal, colorectal, gastric, or ovarian cancer, as well as peritoneal mesothelioma. This is a highly specialised area of surgical oncology that requires a dedicated multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal care. In New South Wales, cytoreductive surgery is performed at only two centres—Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and St George Hospital—and Dr Ahmadi is involved in both teams.
