What to bring to your appointment

To help us provide you with the best possible care, please bring the following items to your appointment:

  • An up-to-date referral from your GP or specialist (this allows you to be able to claim your medicare rebate)
We will contact you before your appointment if a new referral is needed.

  • Contact details for your regular GP (to assist with clinical correspondence)

  • Any recent test results or imaging reports

For patients with peritoneal malignancy, please bring a physical copy of your imaging on a CD or USB drive to your appointment. This will allow for review at the multidisciplinary meeting, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of your condition.

  • A summary of previous surgeries (including dates and procedures, if known)

  • A list of current medications

  • Medicare card and any private health insurance details

Before your first appointment, you will be asked to complete a Patient Registration Form. This can be emailed to you in advance and returned prior to your visit or can be completed below.

What to expect at your appointment

We understand that medical appointments can sometimes feel overwhelming. You're encouraged to bring a support person with you—having someone else there can help you remember key details and raise any additional questions. If you need an interpreter, please let our reception team know in advance and we’ll do our best to arrange one.

At your appointment, Dr Ahmadi will review your medical history and any available scans or biopsy results. In some cases, further investigations such as updated imaging, procedures or biopsies may be needed.

For straightforward cases, treatment options may be discussed on the day, including consent for any upcoming procedure. Please feel free to ask questions at any time.

In more complex cases, including new cancer diagnoses or where hospital admission is expected, Dr Ahmadi may involve other specialists, specialist nurses, or anaesthetists in your care. With your consent, your case may also be discussed at a multidisciplinary team meeting (MDT) to ensure the best possible plan is in place.
